Created in 1986, DIVE Cincinnati is one
of the largest springboard and platform diving programs in the
United States. Having undergone rapid expansion since its inception,
the DIVE Cincinnati program now attracts divers from the Greater
Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Eastern Indiana areas.
Attracting divers of all ages and ability
levels - from beginner to the national champion, some athletes
drive more than one hour each way to be a part of this program.
Many divers who are now members of the nationally renowned
Cincinnati Stingrays
Diving Team began their diving careers in the DIVE Cincinnati
Program.
With
practices taking place at the Albright Health Center at Northern
Kentucky University, the DIVE Cincinnati program uses
two one-meter and one three-meter diving boards for both conditioning
and instruction. Since diving is an individual sport, one-on-one
instruction is stressed allowing each diver to learn at his
or her own speed and ability. A maximum of 10 divers is allowed
per practice group. All practices last for one hour.
